Nestled in the gently rolling countryside of the Carolina Piedmont, Cabarrus County is located in south-central North Carolina just a half-hour northeast of the burgeoning City of Charlotte. The region is home to more than 1.8 million people and includes the communities of Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Mt. Pleasant and Midland.

Cabarrus County is home to legendary Lowe's Motor Speedway and to an exciting racing heritage. Not only was the first official race held here 53 years ago, but this is the greatest concentration of NASCAR teams. In fact, over 90% are in Cabarrus County or nearby, and NASCAR fans come here all year round to tour the race shops and see what goes on behind the scenes in the fastest growing sport in the country.
